NatWest, Birmingham
Serving 19 million customers, NatWest Group is the largest commercial and retail bank in the UK.
Originally founded in 1968, the group operates a wide variety of banking brands, which offer personal banking, business banking, private banking, insurance products and corporate finance.
In the UK, its main subsidiary companies are National Westminster Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank, NatWest Markets and Coutts.
The Challenge
The basement area within the new NatWest office in Brindleyplace, Birmingham, suffered from zero signal on all of the major mobile networks – O2, EE, Vodafone and Three. With a number of offices located in the basement areas, including maintenance and security, having no mobile phone signal was affecting key business operations, productivity and health and safety. Boost Pro Systems was approached to design a solution which could be installed quickly and without disrupting day-to-day operations.
“I’d like to use this opportunity to acknowledge the work that was completed. Since the installation, the service there has improved – this has helped alleviate any health and safety fears staff might have had in terms of working in an area with no mobile signal, in case there was ever an emergency”.

The Solution
Following a detailed survey and consultation period, Boost Pro designed a passive DAS to improve all four major networks in the basement level.
The system comprised of two external antennas located on the roof, four repeater units housed in the comms room and three internal omni antennas strategically located to dissipate the signal of all four networks.
This project leverages our licence-excempt Passive DAS Indutrial Signal Booster. This product benefits from:
✓ 3G / 4G / LTE Voice and Data
✓ Multi-Carrier Support with Carrier Switching
✓ Indoor / Outdoor NEMA 4 Rated
✓ Network Safe
The Results
The signal has gone from zero bars to full signal on all networks, hugely improving the operational efficiencies of all departments in the basement area.
Employees can now easily communicate with all stakeholders, including head office, suppliers, partners and customers.
The team now benefits from health and safety, productivity and operational advantages of being able to use mobile devices on the move within the offices.
Our mobile repeater products are licence-exempt and fully meets the regulatory requirements in the UK (Ofcom SI 2018/399) and Ireland (ComReg S.I.No.283 of 2018)
