About NHS Borders
The Challenge
Boost Pro was approached to survey, test, and deploy a mobile signal solution for two key BGH buildings – the Primary Service Block, and the Education Centre. Due to the surrounding landscape and materials used in the construction of both buildings, (concrete, steel and Low-E glass), like many other hospitals, they have suffered from poor mobile connectivity for a number of years. Our objective was to improve the board’s corporate network, EE, for staff to be able to use mobile devices on site.
The Solution
Following a detailed survey and consultation period, the Boost Pro technical team designed a passive DAS for both hosptial buildings. Due to the nature of the Service Block building and the type of internal walls, particular attention was given to the placing of the internal omni antennas, to ensure all areas were covered.
This project leverages our license-exempt Passive DAS Industrial Signal Booster. This product benefits from:
✓ 3G / 4G / LTE Voice and Data
✓ Multi-Carrier Support with Carrier Switching
✓ Indoor / Outdoor NEMA 4 Rated
✓ Network Safe
The Results
A strong and consistent mobile signal provided for all NHS staff, to ensure daily tasks can be completed and critical calls are not missed.
Full installation was completed in just three working days.
The team now benefits from health and safety, productivity and operational advantages of being able to use mobile devices on the move within the hospital buildings.
Our products are license-exempt and fully comply with Ofcom’s UK Interface requirement 2102 (IR2102) (UK) and ComReg S.I.No.283 of 2018 (Ireland).
