Following their world-record Atlantic crossing, The Maclean Brothers are setting their sights on an even greater challenge — and we’re proud to be by their side.
In May 2025, brothers Ewan, Jamie, and Lachlan will attempt a non-stop, unsupported row across the entire Pacific Ocean, covering over 9,000 miles from the west coast of the Americas to Australia. The journey is expected to take more than 120 days at sea and aims to raise £1 million to fund clean water projects in Madagascar through The Maclean Foundation.
The Clarus Networks Group is proud to be an official sponsor of the expedition, contributing to the Clean Water Fund and providing Starlink satellite connectivity to support the team throughout their journey. The Starlink system will allow the brothers to stay in touch with loved ones, share real-time updates, and stream their progress live — even from the most remote parts of the Pacific.
“This is more than a world-first expedition — it’s a mission with purpose,” said Chris Schonhut, Maritime & Energy Director at Clarus. “We’re proud to support the brothers with both funding and connectivity to help them raise awareness and deliver life-changing impact.”
A mission to change lives
Every penny raised through public donations will go directly to The Maclean Foundation’s clean water projects, bringing safe, reliable drinking water to over 30,000 people in remote communities across Madagascar. The row itself is entirely funded through sponsorship, ensuring that 100% of donations go to the cause.
The Maclean Brothers first made headlines in 2020 when they became the fastest trio in history to row across the Atlantic Ocean. Now, they’re pushing the limits once again — facing bigger waves, harsher conditions, and a much longer route in pursuit of an even bigger goal.
As a business committed to delivering connectivity where it’s needed most, we are honoured to support a mission that’s changing lives, one stroke at a time.
